Sonia Bianconi
- EU Projects Manager
Sonia holds a master’s degree in international relations and development cooperation and a 2nd level master in globalisation, governance and international understanding.
After one year of professional experience in EU project management for two associations, respectively based in Sofia and Rome, in May 2022 she moved to Brussels for an internship at the European Energy Research Alliance where she worked on EU research projects aimed at fostering cooperation on renewables among different stakeholders. In particular, at EERA she worked on the SUPEERA Project, an initiative aiming to facilitate the coordination of the European research community in support of the execution of the SET-Plan.
In August 2022 she joined EHPA where she is currently working as EU Projects Manager on communication, dissemination, and policy tasks of 2 EU-funded projects: Compliance Services on the Eco-design and energy labelling legislation (total value: 2.537.018,15 EUR) and SPIRIT on the decarbonisation of the food and paper industries through heat pumps (total value: 11.157.709 EUR).
Given the synergies between the SPIRIT project and the paper industry, she took part to the organisation of the Heat pump and paper industries' networking event in February 2023, which represented one of the several collaboration opportunities between EHPA and the Confederation of European Paper Industry.
As part of EHPA set of activities aiming at engaging stakeholders on the decarbonisation of heating and cooling, she took part to the organisation of the Heat Pump Innovation Center for the Energy Fair organised in the framework of the Sustainable Energy Week 2023 & 2024 as well as to the BRIDGE Initiative, in which EHPA participates with several projects.
