Innovation in heat pump technology – Introducing the winners of the 2024 HP Award

06 June 2025
10:00-11:30

Join us for a live webinar celebrating the groundbreaking winners of the 2024 Heat Pump Award —an initiative by the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) to spotlight the most innovative, sustainable, and impactful heat pump projects across the world.

In this session, you’ll discover five trailblazing projects that are shaping the future of heating and cooling through outstanding heat pump integration:

🏙 Heat Pump City of the Year Award
Turku, Finland – Discover how a smart two-way district heating and cooling network is harnessing urban excess heat to create a Positive Energy District with zero emissions.

🏗 DecarBuilding Award
Pasaia, Spain – Dive into the HAPPENING project, which retrofits multi-family buildings with a smart cascade HP system that adapts to diverse climates and dramatically cuts emissions.

🏭 DecarbIndustry Award
Trondheim, Norway – Explore FRIGG, the world’s first full-scale steam-supplying heat pump for the feed industry, using moist air waste heat and natural refrigerants to reduce carbon emissions to near zero.

💡 Lighthouse Heat Pump Award
Cambridge, United Kingdom – See how a surgical hospital is powered by a resilient DC-based heat pump plant that combines solar electricity and HVAC in one seamless, efficient system.

👥 People’s Choice Award
Oss, Netherlands – Learn about Organon’s efforts to decarbonize its pharmaceutical production site with high-efficiency Trane heat pumps, saving energy and replacing gas boilers.

Each project will be presented by the teams behind the innovations, sharing insights on technology, implementation, results, and the impact on communities and industries.
