EUSEW 2024 Policy Session: No hot air! The potential of waste heat for decarbonising industry, cities and buildings

13 June 2024
04:00 – 07:30
EHPA – 120 Avenue de Cortenbergh, 1000 Brussels

The European Sustainable Energy Week is back! Join the European Heat Pump Association and Euroheat & Power for an exciting event on 13 June.

Heating and cooling represent half of the EU’s final energy consumption. Yet, roughly 80% is based on fossil fuels, mostly imported. This is why the transition to sustainable heating and cooling is paramount in achieving our climate goals and ensuring our energy security.

Heat pumps and district energy are important net zero solutions to decarbonise heating and recover waste heat from industrial processes and buildings.

Join the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) and Euroheat & Power (EHP) during the European Sustainable Energy Week 2024 for a thrilling debate titled No hot air! The potential of waste heat for decarbonising industry, cities and buildings.

Together, we’ll delve into the untapped sources of waste heat and their potential, illustrating with best practice examples the role of heat pumps and district heating & cooling to harness excess heat.

Policy experts and industry leaders will discuss barriers and solutions regarding the implementation of the Fit for 55 Package and explore on-site waste heat recovery strategies not yet covered by existing legislation.
